Support Policy

Last updated:

Trove is local by design.

Most issues can be resolved on your device without a support login or an internet connection. We never have access to your library, so please do not send personal documents or passwords when asking for help.

Getting help

Email abhidevelops572@gmail.com with a short description of the issue, your device model, operating system version, and the Trove app version. Screenshots are helpful, but remove sensitive travel or identity information first.

Before contacting support

Backups and restores

Keep your backup password and backup file safe. Trove cannot recover a lost password or decrypt a backup without it. Before restoring, confirm that you selected the intended backup: restoring replaces the current local Trove library after confirmation.

Travel Bucket and completed trips

Travel Bucket has Some day and Been There tabs. Open an item’s Info screen to edit or delete it, add planning details, complete it, or create a pre-filled trip. A completed trip is read-only; it can be viewed or deleted, but documents and checklist items cannot be added or edited.

Vault and reused documents

Vault stores general documents independently from trips. While adding a trip document, choose Reuse from Vault to search and select one or more existing files. Editing a Vault source updates linked trip details. Removing a trip link is safe; deleting the Vault source shows a confirmation because it also removes linked trip references.

Sharing a file to Trove

On iOS, use the system Share action from Photos or Files, choose Trove, then select an active trip. The normal document-details flow opens after import. If no file arrives, share it again from the device.

You may save backups in Files, cloud drives, or another location you choose. Those locations and any sharing method are outside Trove’s control. Clearing local trip data inside Trove does not delete backup files stored elsewhere.

Backups contain your local trips, documents, saved details, and checklist items. Trove Plus ownership is not included because it is associated with your Apple Account. After a restore, Trove best-effort schedules eligible future checklist reminders again; notification permission must still be enabled.

Data recovery and limitations

Because Trove has no server copy of your data, deleted local data cannot be recovered unless you created a backup beforehand. Removing the app or clearing its app storage may remove your local library. Create an encrypted backup before moving to another iPhone, resetting your iPhone, reinstalling Trove, or clearing app data.

Trove Plus purchases

The free plan supports up to three trips, five documents per trip, and five documents in Vault. Trove Plus is a one-time, non-consumable In-App Purchase that unlocks unlimited trips and documents. Apple processes the purchase; Trove does not receive or store payment details.

If an existing purchase is not recognized, open Account → Trove Plus and select Restore Purchase while signed into the original Apple Account. Purchase history, billing, and refund requests are managed by Apple. You can review an Apple purchase or request assistance at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Support scope

Support covers reasonable help with Trove’s features and reproducible app issues. It cannot troubleshoot third-party viewers, cloud-drive providers, email clients, Apple Account or billing restrictions, operating-system restrictions, or data that was not backed up. We may ask for non-sensitive diagnostic details to reproduce a problem.
